Renaissance Box Opens 2026 Residency Applications for Artists and Innovators

CLEVELAND, OH – October 6, 2025 – Renaissance Box, Cleveland’s cross-disciplinary art and technology residency dedicated to community-engaged creative practice, announces that its application portal is now open for 2026 applicants. The program’s single three-month 2026 residency offers artists and cultural innovators space, mentorship, and collaboration to experiment, connect, and produce work that sparks public dialogue and engagement.

Selected residents will receive a $1,000 stipend, free studio space, and access to professional mentorship and networking with creatives and leaders across art, technology, and industry. The residency concludes in a public showcase featuring tactile installations, new media projects, and socially engaged work that invites audiences into the creative process.

“The 2026 program builds on the dynamic collaborations and public impact of last year’s residency,” said Tanya Kaiser, founder and director of Renaissance Box. “We’re dedicating resources to artists who see their practice as a catalyst for transformation.”

In 2025, Renaissance Box hosted outstanding public engagements, including a free pop-up exhibition at the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Immersive Media Lab in the Midtown Collaboration Center and an open studio during IngenuityFest with more than 400 visitors. Residents benefited from immersive partnerships with regional organizations such as Assembly for the Arts, STERIS Engineering, Cleveland Water Alliance, Sears think[box], Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD), CLEANR, SPACES Gallery, and independent artists. These collaborations expanded networks, provided real-world insights, and deepened the impact of participants’ work.

As Renaissance Box continues to bridge the worlds of art and technology, the organization invites the public to attend FutureLand’s AI Summit on November 20, 2025. There, we will share insights into our cross-disciplinary residency model and showcase collaborations that integrate emerging technologies into socially engaged art.
